Trimnells House is a former farm house,in the heart of Colerne Village . You’ll love the quiet ambience, with two pubs within walking distance, A short drive to Bath, Castle Combe and Lacock.
The house has large en suited rooms that are ideally suited to groups of friends and families.The house is surrounded by gardens and has ample parking on the drive.
The guest accommodation is on the ground and first floor.
The 2nd floor apartment and single story granny annex are not included. They are reached by separate entrances and stairs.
The space
Bare in mind the following rules;
– The outside areas must not be used after 10.30pm
– Noise (both inside and outside) must be kept to a minimum as per the Noise Act 1996. But noise inside can be kept from reaching neighbors by use of window shutters.
Trimnells House, Colerne, near Bath, is ideally placed for combining the enjoyment of rural South West England with the delights of exploring the areas’ rich and varied history. Both Georgian Bath and access to The Cotswold Way are only 5 miles away. Situated only 15 minutes drive from the M4 we are also within easy reach of Bristol & Swindon (within 30 minutes) and Cardiff & Cheltenham (within 1 hour). The international airports of Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham & Heathrow are all less than an hour and a half away.
Our village offers guests a slice of village life including accommodating pub where you will be welcomed, a village shop, a peaceful lifestyle, a smile in the street, and all a stones throw from Bath with all its attractions. Guests who have enjoyed Trimnells House and gardens the most have been Hen and Stag groups, families and other groups who seem to enjoy the peaceful walled gardens where children can play while adults can eat and drink. Another group has been Londoners, who seem to enjoy the contrast and leave with batteries recharged.
We can offer accommodation via various agencies or book direct via this website. This is mainly weekends but midweek may also be suitable for groups, families and contractors. Large kitchen, lounge and dining room. Breakfast is available 4-8 miles away, or about 10 minutes drive.
The local pub offers food. Guests may be interested to use the local pub for Hen nights and other parties.
Trimnells offers large rooms (~20-30 sq mtrs) with en suites. Large off street car park. A quiet, safe location away from main roads but not far from major airports and the M4. Bath is a 20-30 minute drive to the center. We offer some disabled facilities including a ground floor bedroom with level access shower. The accommodation is on the ground and first floor. The side annex and top floor are separate from the rest of the house.
Film buffs and families who want to keep children entertained may want to visit nearby Castle Combe where scenes from Stardust, the first Dr Doolittle and Warhorse were filmed, and Lacock where scenes from Harry Potter and numerous costume dramas were filmed. William Fox Talbot did some early pioneering work on photography in Lacock Abbey and there is a Museum of photography in Lacock. The village and Abbey are owned by the National Trust and preserved for posterity.
